What a savory treat for your friends and family as you sit under the shade of a summer gathering at your house and offer this perfect companion to champagne or your favorite white wine! Elegant and easy. No cooking involved – just the presentation.
Ok, I admit my taste are not in line so much with the American palette and favor the flavours that are more assertive, complex and distinctive.
Example is what I have pictured with a creamy but piquant Camembert and St. Marcellin cheeze. Other toppers for your rustic crackers can include delicacies from the sea like Whisky and Honey Scottish Smoked Salmon and from the land a rich Pate Champagne, or pate infused Champagne. Don’t forget to add a variety of mediterranean olives and fire roasted/marinated sweet red pepper.
So choose the cheese that you love best, but try a new one whenever you can – there are so many varieties out there to explore. At first you may find a new cheese to be overwhelming, but keep sampling it and you will often find your palate develops the way it does with wine. One little cheese shop I can recommend is Milk And Honey Bazaar in Westport, Ma. Take a ride, go to the beaches out there and pack a picnic with goodies from this shop!
